Content Management Systems

PerthWeb offers a variety of Content Management Systems (CMS’) which allow an organization to manage their own web site content, from simple text updates through to site wide management by multiple users.

For small businesses to medium businesses PerthWeb recommends its own PerthWeb Simple CMS.

PerthWeb's Simple CMS was created because the average Content Management System is too hard to use for a normal human being! The PerthWeb Simple CMS is web browser based and features a simplified editing interface that makes it quick and easy to add/edit web site menu items and web site pages, adding text, photos, documents, web site links, and more. A basic installation including training is also just $599 inclusive of GST.

Being simple to use doesn't mean the PerthWeb Simple CMS isn't powerful or customisable.  To the contrary, more advanced controls are hidden from the user but may be easily accessed if required. The CMS also includes modules for commonly required features such as shopping carts, user management,  job management, and event management, and custom modules may be created to suit your own business and its processes.  Click here to find our more about PerthWeb's Simple CMS.

For medium to large organisations, PerthWeb recommends the popular Joomla CMS

Joomla is a very popular Linux based solution which is open source and vendor independent. This means it has no license costs and is developed and supported by a network of global developers, similar to the Mozilla Firefox web browser. Joomla is very powerful, allowing the management of both the web site's content and structure. It may also be customized to provide additional functionality, either via customisations coded by PerthWeb or easily installed pre-made solutions such as shopping carts and blogs which are available through a global network of 3rd party software developers. For enterprise level organizations, PerthWeb suggest the FarCry CMS.

FarCry is an enterprise level Windows Server based CMS that is also open source, but which features support for commercial databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle. FarCry also has commercial support services available as the product was originally developed as a commercial product by Sydney development company Daemon, who continue to oversee its open source development.

FarCry has an excellent in-built security and is designed to allow multiple levels of users, making it an excellent solution for both external and internal web sites (Intranets). FarCry is in use by global companies such as ABN Amro and is a truly scalable solution for the future. Click here to find out more about FarCry.
